Israel Trips
What follows in only a tentative itinerary at this time, but we present it to you to give you a good idea of what kind of sights and activities you can expect if you travel with Kehilat Sar Shalom and Messianic Rabbi Stan Farr to Israel from October 15-28, 2010! This is not written in stone; you can expect changes to occur between now and our October departure! Days 1 and 2: Depart Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport to departure point TBA. Layover, then pick up nonstop flight to Israel's Tel Aviv airport. Day 2 (after arrival): Depending on the time of day on arrival, proceed to Jaffa, then to hotel in Tel Aviv or Natanya. Day 3: Take in Caesarea and the Aqueduct; Mount Carmel, Druz Village; Sepphorus; Mount Arbel; finish day at hotel in Tiberius or the Ramat Resort. Day 4: Take in Kafar Nachum; Mount Beattitudes; Safat; Tiberius; St. Peter fish; boat ride by Tagbah; Mount Arbel; back to hotel. Day 5: Take in Mount Arbel or Syrian Bunker Overlook; Jordan River immersions; Bat Shean; Mount Gilboa Springs; Nir David - Sachne; Bet Alfa synagogue; travel to hotel in Jerusalem. Days 6 and 7: Take in the Mount of Olives; garden of Gethsemane; Kidron Valley; Pool of Siloam; Hezekiah's Tunnel; City of David; Peter's Denial Church; Jewish Quarter; four synagogues; Cardo; Temple Institute; the Temple Mount; Pool of Bethesda; Muslim Quarter; Austrian Hostel; Damascus Gate; and Garden Tomb. Day 8: Drive past the K'nesset and other government buildings; visit the Scroll Museum; Vad YaShem; En Kardem; Jewish market; Ben Yahudah, then back to the hotel. Day 9: Day off; Shabbat service and worship. Day 10: Take in the Judean wilderness; Qumran; the Dead Sea; En Gedi; swim or hike to falls; Masada; return to hotel. Day 11: Take in Samuel's Tomb; Emmaus; Gazer; Jaffa; Bet Shemish; Elat Valley; return to the hotel. Day 12: Day off. Self-guided tour. Leave for the airport. Departure from Israel. Day 13: Travel day. Arrival back at Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport. |
