Kehilat Sar Shalom (Prince of Peace Community) is a Messianic congregation dedicated to teaching and living out the Jewish foundations of Christian faith.
About Community at Sar Shalom
Kehilat Sar Shalom, is generally referred to as just “Sar Shalom,” and was founded by Stan Farr in 1993 with the goal of reaching both Jewish and non-Jewish followers of Yeshua (Jesus), with the first century Jewish foundations of our faith. We have always sought to combine the rich, first century, Jewish heritage of our faith with the contemporary worship of the present-day followers of Yeshua.
Since then, Sar Shalom has been active in establishing other communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin and has grown into what is now the largest Messianic congregation in the Upper Midwest.
For over 30 years, Sar Shalom has been at the forefront of providing a restoration of the first century understanding of the Word of God. With a core of Jewish families and even more non-Jewish members, we offer a diverse community experience that is unrivaled in most mainstream congregations. Of the now 200+ families and individuals that call Sar Shalom home, over 25 countries of origin are represented among our membership. As a messianic community, we see our calling in keeping with the prophecy of Isaiah: “For My House shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” (Isa. 56:7).
Yeshua stated that Moses wrote about Him and so among our highest priorities at Sar Shalom is the studying and teaching the Torah and the Prophets, bringing out prophesies of our Messiah Yeshua contained within their pages.
It is our desire to create a place which fosters family and community while encouraging an authentic worship experience. Whether you are Jewish or Gentile, visiting or looking for a home community, you are always welcome at Sar Shalom.
